If money is critical to elections, and we all know that it is, then the person who has done more to elect a Republican President as well as Senators and Congressman in key races is Sheldon Adelson. He didn’t have to do it. He’s a very wealthy man. He has a good life. But by helping Mitt Romney and others as generously as he has, he has opened himself up (as he knew he would) to the scorn of the liberal media, made his business a target of the IRS and other federal agencies. Like the Koch Brothers, he’s now the paragon of an evil Republican. Never mind that he's incredibly philanthropic. He gives to a lot more than political causes. He gives to hospitals, schools, colleges. His support of Israel is well known. But today in the WSJ ($) he explains why he’s become so involved in this election.
