A Harvard Professor who served in the Clinton Administration writes that fracking is a wonderful development for reducing CO2 emmissions. Furthermore, it is making the US energy independent. So, why are environmentalists so opposed to it? The professor has an answer to that, too.

Because they think that James Holmes is mentally disturbed (how do they know) and therefore doesn’t deserve the death penalty (which they admit they don’t want for anyone). Instead, he should spend the rest of his life in a psychiatric hospital presumably. Anything else is vengeance.
